Building the Industry’s Only “Hi Team
Courtyard Taipei is committed to becoming a happiness-driven employer. Beyond creating an age-inclusive and disability-friendly workplace environment, the hotel has established clear and structured recruitment mechanisms for diverse groups, including the dedicated “Hi Team,” designed specifically for job seekers with hearing impairments.
With a strong focus on inclusive employment, Courtyard Taipei provides comprehensive support starting from the interview stage, where candidates are guided by designated staff. After onboarding, employees receive one-on-one mentorship tailored to their job functions, supporting career development and long-term professional planning.
The Golden Exhibition Award, organized annually by the Workforce Development Agency of Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor, recognizes public and private organizations for outstanding achievements in employing persons with disabilities and promoting inclusive employment. Evaluation criteria include effective utilization and development of talent with disabilities, creation of inclusive and friendly work environments, promotion of labor participation, and ensuring stable employment—ultimately contributing to social value and mutual benefits for both employers and employees.
Through years of dedicated efforts in fostering an inclusive workplace, Courtyard Taipei has been widely recognized for its initiatives, including job role assessments, job redesign, human–machine collaboration, and workflow optimization. These measures have expanded the scope and depth of roles available to employees with disabilities. Standing out among nearly one hundred nominated organizations, Courtyard Taipei was awarded the 21st Golden Exhibition Award – Outstanding Employer for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities.
Tangible results have also been achieved in both employment and career development. Employees with disabilities account for 3% of the hotel’s total workforce, and one-third of them have advanced to reserve management positions. These employees are employed across a wide range of departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, Stewarding, and Engineering, demonstrating diverse and unrestricted career pathways that enable individuals to apply their strengths and develop balanced professional competencies.
Courtyard Taipei has further distinguished itself by exclusively establishing the “Hi Team,” a program uniquely designed for employees with hearing impairments. Through one-on-one coaching, hands-on guidance, and structured skills training, the program helps hearing-impaired employees adapt to their work environment and develop professional capabilities. Mentors also serve as long-term workplace navigators, assisting with problem-solving and external communication. This initiative, centered on enabling stable and sustainable employment for hearing-impaired individuals, is the only program of its kind in the industry.
Committed to sustainable and diverse talent development, Courtyard Taipei also places strong emphasis on employee compensation and benefits. In addition to an employee stock ownership trust, the hotel provides complimentary meals, free uniform laundering, and department-based incentives such as year-end bonuses, performance bonuses, and incentive rewards. Employees also enjoy accommodation and dining discounts, as well as benefits across Leofoo Group’s affiliated companies.
Furthermore, Courtyard Taipei offers flexible work arrangements, stable training programs, and clear promotion pathways for middle-aged, senior, and employees with disabilities, ensuring work-life balance and fostering a stable, diverse, and inclusive workplace culture.
