Eagle perches and artificial nest boxes

The raptor perches set up on the farm provide eagles and other birds with a safe space to rest and roost. As top predators in nature, raptors are skilled at hunting small mammals like field mice and agricultural pests, effectively reducing threats to crops, making them an important natural control force in farmlands. Through their natural predation behavior, they not only help control pest populations but also reduce human intervention, maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

Since the installation of raptor perches at Qianshan Farm, raptors such as the Black Kite and Crested Serpent Eagle have been observed visiting, indicating that the farm environment has good attractiveness and habitat value for wild birds. In addition, sightings of the Collared Scops Owl and Yellow-billed Horned Owl have also been recorded, highlighting the farm's potential in ecological conservation. The goal is to balance ecological preservation while producing agricultural goods, implementing feasible and environmentally friendly natural pest control strategies through the use of perches and introduction of natural enemies. We also hope that through these efforts, more substantial and long-lasting positive impacts on ecological conservation in the Qianshan area can be achieved.
